On and Off Topic is a personal site where I publish the small things I build for fun. Most of it is interactive. You can open a game or a data tool and start using it in a few seconds, with no signup and nothing to install.
What you will find here
The site has two main sections. Random Projects holds the data tools and maps: things like a bilateral trade explorer, a comparison of home prices across big metro areas, and a map of where presidents have traveled while in office. Games holds the playable ones, from an around the world race to a gerrymandering sandbox to a set of interactive economics lessons.
Everything runs in your browser. I build these because I enjoy the questions behind them and because making something you can poke at is more fun than writing about it.
Who makes it
This is a one person project. I design, build, and write everything on the site myself. If you have feedback, a bug to report, or an idea for a project, I would like to hear it.
